This piece was inspired by the reversal of Roe versus Wade, which left me shocked and devastated at the prospect of women's health in 2023. The power of the uterus is astounding and apparently causes fear to those who seek to control women's bodies. the silver uterus lies upon a lattice brass cuff, representing a graceful bed of blood vessels. The moonstone ovaries are luminescent, like the ovaries themselves. Moonstone is thought to capture the moons light in physical form. The connection of the moon and lunar cycles to a women's menstrual cycle is part of its symbolism in this piece.
